On Thursday October 24th Dunston Knit and Natter group, (part of Dunston Methodist church) spent the afternoon at Lincoln Cathedral knitting around the Table for the Nation. This was under the peace installation of 12,000 beautiful paper doves. The Peace Installation was made possible by Peter Walker and contained messages of hope , peace and love which were contributed during the summer months by churches, individuals and visitors to the cathedral.

Our enthusiastic group of knitters and crocheters regularly sends toys, clothes and blankets to a London based charity www.knitforpeace.org.uk

We were joined during the afternoon by a number of other knitters from all around the country who were visiting Lincoln. Each person completed a square and we plan to make a blanket from the squares completed during this project

Cathedral Prayer for peace
Spirit of Peace
Lead us from despair to hope
from fear to trust .
Lead us from hate to love
from war to peace
Let peace fill our hearts ,our world, our universe
Amen
