Improving Wellbeing, Bringing Hope

celebration service

It was a joyous afternoon on Saturday 20th July when around 60 people gathered at Ruskington Methodist Church to celebrate the ministry of the chaplains within Lincolnshire Community Healthcare Chaplaincy.

The service, which included talks from Chair of District, Rev Angy Long, and Chaplaincy Manager, Howard Smedley, included lots of laughter as well as more serious moments as we thought of patients who have accessed the service. Howard spoke of listening being the highest form of hospitality and Angy reflected on the parable of the Good Samaritan.

During the service chaplains who have been volunteering in GP practices since around 2018 and those who have only recently completed a new training course were prayed for and commissioned.

There are now 15 chaplains either already in GP practices or eager to begin their ministry of listening and guidance.
