Eco Garden for Brigg Methodist Church

brigg eco garden

The Asda Foundation has generously granted Brigg Methodist Church monies to help with the development of an eco/community garden. Revd Robert Roberts is seen here with Grace Smith, Young People, Schools and Family Outreach Worker for the Barton, Brigg and Wolds Methodist Circuit, receiving a cheque for £2,685 from Sue Bradley, Community Champion at Asda Scunthorpe.

The monies will go towards the garden development at the rear of Brigg chapel that will enable the provision of some of the raised beds and pathways, and subject to other funding applications the inclusion of sensory garden and eco elements. The development of the garden is being overseen by Grace with involvement from youth groups, including those on the New Places for New People initiative ‘Sustain’, and community members. It is also planned that the garden will subsequently provide outside space for Community Meals in the summer, organised by Oikos.
