The District, along with the wider Methodist church, has continued to be challenged about respecting the voices of those who have been hurt in the life of the church whether in the past or presently. The church needs to be a safe place and especially through the Methodist Past Cases review, we have learned much about how it can be.

The District puts at the heart of its work the lessons from the Past Cases Review report, the apology offered by the Methodist church in 2015 and the continuing work to equip churches to respond well to those who need to be heard and offered safe spaces and places.
