Visit of the President & Vice-President of Conference

Lincolnshire was the first District to be visited by newly elected President of Conference for 2026/2027 The Revd Mark Slaney and newly elected Vice-President of Conference Caroline Stead.

Their visit started with lunch with members of the farming community hearing about the current struggles in agriculture particularly due to the very dry weather.   The next day saw a visit to projects in Boston Circuit, followed by an afternoon with District healthcare chaplains and an evening in Immingham visiting Queen Victoria Seamen's rest.  

On Wednesday time was spent seeing mission work at Bracebridge Heath on the outskirts of Lincoln followed by a village event in Dunston in the Sleaford Circuit to mark the eclipse of the sun.    A visit to the Epworth Old Rectory took place that morning.

Finally the President and Vice-President spent time with District trustees and members of the working groups who are working on the potential restructuring of the District.  

We highlighted the best of Lincolnshire but the President and Vice-President also heard of some of the struggles of life – Joy and Sorrow.
