"Take 5" – birthday celebrations

On Thursday, November 16th 'Take 5' celebrated its 1st Birthday!

For those who don't know us, we are a preschool activity group that meets once a week during term time at Heckington Methodist Chapel. As part of the warm spaces initiative, we launched this FREE-to-attend community group for families in the immediate area. We give them a chance to connect within a warm, friendly play environment. We have a terrific team of volunteers who keep the refreshments and fundraising going to support this group, We are fortunate that many of our volunteers also have a wealth of childcare and teaching experience, which means we can offer help and advice to families who need it.

To celebrate, we threw a party, of course, complete with a toddler disco, bubbles and cake!

Thanks to a County council grant we received we have also recently replenished our toys and built a lending library for parents to use as members of the group.

The children have loved choosing new books and enjoyed the new educational toys we have on site. This week we had an assault course and next week we are making bread!
