Louth MC has started up a Messy Church. The church already runs a busy toddler group, and since the last (and very popular) Messy Church closed in the town a couple of years ago, the time seemed right to step out in faith.
Over 50 people attended the first event in October which had a harvest theme and looked at the parable of the sower. Crafts included making mini scarecrows, popcorn necklaces, autumn money boxes and more, whilst older children enjoyed trying the nearly impossible hoopla and the much easier bean bag toss. A simple tea of jacket potatoes was followed with jelly, ice cream and cake to finish. It was lovely to see lots of children who used to attend toddlers but have now moved onto school and get reacquainted with the parents.
Louth hopes to make this a monthly event on the second Friday of each month at 4pm. The aim for November is to get messier!
