Ashby Wesley LEGO weekend

This now annual Half Term event is in its 5th year and grows ever more popular. Last year over 300 people of all ages visited over the 2 days enthralled by the range of LEGO models on display, including the top 8 largest models available for LEGO enthusiasts. With over 300,000 LEGO bricks on display visitors are captivated by the display that church member and LEGO enthusiast Ian Forster puts on each year.

This has now become a firm fixture not only in the Ashby Wesley church calendar but in the local community and for the user groups that meet regularly on our premises. There are no shortage of volunteers willing to help during the event, including running the free play LEGO model building room which includes a popular children's competition with a small prize, as well as baking cakes and cooking bacon and sausage butties for the refreshment area and chatting with visitors.

The social atmosphere at this event is always commented on with everyone welcome. As a bonus over the last 5 years in excess of £2000 has been raised for the Ashby Wesley memorial windows renovation fund.
