Dunston Messy Church

Dunston is a small village and we are a very small church. During the pandemic we worshipped each week via ZOOM – a simple gathering for worship prayer and discussion. As a result we are now Churches Together, cooperating and worshiping together in everything we do. Some families were involved in Zooming and as activities got back into swing we decided Zoom had run its course, although we continue to meet once a month for our Saturday Zooms. Families wanted to find a way to stay involved so we established our Messy Church as a shared breakfast followed by worship and activities. This takes place on Sunday morning from 9.30am in the months which have a fifth Sunday i.e. about 4 or 5 times a year

The theme in October 2023 was the significant numbers in the Bible one God, three in one (unity) seven (perfection) ten (Law) 40 (trials). We made rainbows, we plaited wool, we made ten commandment mobile phones and lots more. By 12 pm we had to suggest that it was maybe time to pack up and go home; everyone was having such a good time!
