Delicious teas at Billinghay Methodist Church
Well done Billinghay Methodist Church near Sleaford on hosting a Coronation tea for the village on Monday 8th May. An amazing 110 teas were served by around 10 dedicated volunteers from the chapel with others not able to attend contributing homemade cakes.
The teas included a selection of sandwiches with salad garnish, cheese stars, a half scone with jam and cream, a cup cake, another piece of cake and if that wasn't enough some trifle to finish! Union Jack plates, serviettes, bunting and red, white and blue balloons made the chapel look really wonderful and inviting.
The tea was sponsored by the Parish Council but a raffle of items related to the Coronation and other donations resulted in £250 for the chapel.
To fit 110 people, seated, in the church and school room in only the space of 90 minutes must have been quite a feat! Sally-Ann Robinson said that "there was a good atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves and very sociable."
