Barton, Brigg and Wolds Circuit has just completed the installation of solar panels, a battery and an electric car charging point on the manse at Caistor in preparation for the arrival of their new minister in the summer. This is not the first manse that has had solar panels fitted in this circuit.
The 14 panels, a battery which will hold enough storage to provide electricity through the night and a charger cost around £11,000 and two and a half days to fit. The incoming minister will benefit from lower bills and the installation helps the circuit work towards becoming net-zero. The incoming minister will be encouraged to find an electricity tariff whereby they can sell surplus electricity back to the grid.
