District Youth Team

In a nutshell what is the District Youth Team?

The District Youth Team is currently made up of a core of youth work volunteers and paid workers who meet together to organize a variety of district youth events throughout the year. In addition to these, we have three evening meetings (usually one per term).

As we gather at our meetings it gives all present an opportunity to share ideas and resources and plan the future events. During these actual youth events (alongside the youth work) it gives the leaders and volunteers opportunity to chat, encourage one another in a youth work environment.

However, at this point we need to mention that whilst we enjoy these gatherings we feel under represented as a ‘District’ Youth Team with only have a third of circuits represented and therefore we would like to throw the gauntlet down for each circuit to allocate and be willing to send a Youth leader/volunteer along to these gatherings so that we can become a truly ‘District’ Youth Team. So if you have any youth leaders or youth workers in your circuit or passionate youth volunteers who feel ‘out on a limb’ please invite them to come to one of our meetings, so they can become a part of the District Youth team: WE NEED YOU!
